Health experts warn for a potential second wave of COVID-19 despite drop in cases

Health experts have asked general public to ensue social distancing and follow strict SOP’s. There could be a potential second wave of coronavirus even though there has been a drop in cases.

Although the situation is under control, health experts are still advising people to ensue caution and take the virus seriously. If people forego safety measures and go about their business there are huge chances that a spike in cases will follow. Public’s attitude and cooperation is the key. Dr Ashraf Nizami, the President of Pakistan Medical Association said:

“Use of masks is part of a comprehensive package of the prevention and control measures that can limit the spread of certain respiratory viral diseases in Winters, including Covid-19”

Nizami also said that children need to wear masks and use hand sanitizers when going out in public and schools. This will help protect them from contracting the virus and keep others safe as well.

Most importantly, the pandemic is still rampant. Do not indulge in spreading misinformation. There are still active cases in Pakistan that are being treated by health care professionals. All we have to do is follow SOP’s and guidelines and support authorities in charge.
